Born in Vancouver Canada in 1953 Nancy moved to London in 1954 and has lived and worked in the city ever since.
She has painted from an early age, greatly encouraged by her father, Llewellyn Petley-Jones, a well known Canadian artist.
Nancy studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Kingston Polytechnic and graduated with a BA(Hons) degree in 1976.
For many years Nancy had a successful freelance career in publishing, illustrating for major companies such as Macmillan, Hodder and Stoughton and Pan Books. Freelance work continued while working with the BBC as an illustrator in their Graphic Design department, creating work for the television camera. Now with three grown up children Nancy has changed direction and paints large townscapes and landscapes in watercolours and oil, either in situ or in her Twickenham studio.
She exhibits successfully in and around London, opens her studio annually and her work is included in collections in America, Australia and Europe.
