Annelies Clarke was born in Holland and trained first in Rotterdam and then at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Florence, Italy, where Annelies obtained the four-year Diploma in Painting, Etching, Anatomy and History of Art (with honours). Annelies Clarke has lived and worked in Brighton since 1980, and her enthusiastic, batteries-included approach to her work has won her a loyal following. Annelies joined the Fiveways Artists group on 1995, and her annual Open House exhibitions during the Brighton Festival are always packed out.
